What would Days of our Lives be without major drama? We like to see the characters happy, but only for a little while, because happy gets boring, and fast.
What keeps us coming back, day after day, is the never ending drama, of course.
Fun things happening in Salem this week:
Nick Fallon purchased surveillance equipment in an effort to gather evidence that it was Will, not Lucas, that shot EJ. I'm not sure where this storyline is going, but I have a feeling there will be one heck of a custody battle over this little girl, and there is no telling how far Nick is willing to go to get what he wants. There's something a little sociopathic about this guy, and I just don't trust him.
Cloe is doing everything she can to get between Jen and Daniel, her newly discovered baby daddy. I wanted to see Daniel with Nicole, so I'm not really sure where I stand here.
And...
Not that I didn't totally see this coming, but today's episode revealed that Nicole is having "feelings" for Father Eric. Nicole was Eric's first love, way back when, but she dumped him when Kate offered her five million dollars to marry Lucas. It's only a matter of time until the good priest breaks his vows, as it's obvious he still finds her hard to resist.
DOOL writers sure have been pushing the envelope lately... good on them.
A place for DOOL fans to dish about the show, whether it's to rant, gush or cry!

Lucas Horton Salem's Biggest Jerk?
When did Lucas become the designated salem jerk?
He's a homophobe and an insensitve jack-***.
I'm not a big Jennifer fan, she's such a cream puff, but who is Lucas to judge her on moving on?
And this personal vendetta against Dr. Dan? I think someone is still bitter that his wife chose the good Doctor over himself.
What gets me most is the way he goes on and on about what Daniel did to her. She cheated on the man, lied to him for months, tried to pass another man's baby off as his, completely broke his heart... but HE hurt her???
C'mon!
Did Lucas fall off the wagon? It would be the only logical explanation for all of this irrational behavior...

Reunited in Salem
Ah... Wasn't it sweet to watch all of the reunions going on in Salem yesterday?

First, Melanie and Chad (didn't Gaby just look thrilled). Then Melanie and Daniel (I cried, but then I'm a big suck).
Daniel found Nicole in the town square, and Bo arrived just in time with the meds so that dr D could stop her labor pains and save the baby (thank heavens).
But the big news of the day... EJ and Sami locked in a passionate embrace! EJ said something to the effect that they'd been resisting each other for too long, and that he gives up. I'm sorry but their chemistry is palpable, and they are HOT together.
Much love,
Felicia

Ian McAllister Killed Stefano Dimera on Days of Our Lives!
There's so much going on in Salem!
It seemed clear that today's post should be titled "2 dead, several injured in Salem explosion", but that breaking news was blown out of the water when Ian announced to Kate that he is the one who murdered Stefano Dimera!
Of course, the episode ended at that point and we'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear more. I'd just like to point out that I singled him out as my prime suspect from the get go. This isn't my first who-dun-it in Salem, and it probably won't be my last!
Now EJ, Sami and Will just need to find proof so they can clear EJ's name. Will Kate help her former step-son? This is far from over, and odds are the truth won't be revealed until EJ's about to get fried. It happened to John, and to Sami... I can't think of anyone else, can you?
In other news...
The Salem explosion has claimed two lives so far: Brady Black's fiancee, Madison, and Jack Deveraux, husband to Jennifer and father to Abigail and JJ, whom we haven't seen in years. Could his fathers death be what brings him back to Salem? We'll just have to wait and see.
The scene after the elevator Jack was in plummeted was quite touching, my eyes teared up as Abigail screamed out in pure anguish. The acting has actually been quite impressive this week.
Brady is still in the tunnels with Melanie, so he has no idea his beloved Madison is gone forever. On what was suppose to be their wedding day, I don't know how Brady will survive. Let's hope he doesn't turn back to drugs.
He and Mel finally broke through the wall that had them trapped at the end of the episode, just as Chad and Gaby showed up. Melanie and Brady were hugging, and Chad just looked jealous. It was actually kind of weird. Why in the world would he be jealous? She's just gone through a terrible ordeal, and she was hugging her friend.
Probably will turn out to be nothing, when the scene starts again I'm sure Chad will be thrilled to find his darling Melanie.
Can't wait to see Gaby squirm when the questions start!

Days of Our Lives Interrupted By The Summer Olympics
Stupid summer Olympics.
Just as things are getting good, in come the Summer Olympics, and Days of Our Lives will not be seen for two straight weeks! Two weeks!
I've always hated the Olympics for messing with my TV programming, but I honestly don't remember DOOL being interrupted for more than a few days at a time.
This is almost like a season finale, and the writers sure decided to treat it as such.
Friday's episode was action packed, with more happening in a single episode than often happens over the course of a month!
Of course, the huge explosion at the very end of the episode, which showed half of Salem blowing up is the major story. Will Sami survive the fall from the warehouse balcony? Will Dr. Dan be okay after being smashed to bits by the world's biggest chandelier? What about Abby plummeting to her premature death in an elevator? Will Nicole's baby be OK? It better be. I can't stand to see this poor woman lose another child!
How will those in the tunnels fair? The explosion happened moments after Brady found Melanie, and he through himself on her, forming a human shield around her, but what will happen to him?
And what of Gaby, Chad and her lunatic stalker for hire Andrew, who seemed to be at the epicenter of the explosion?
In the real world, it's unlikely that any of these people would survive, but this is Days of Our Lives, and I highly doubt half the cast is leaving the show on the same day. I could scour the internet for spoilers, checking out who's contract is up and such, but I don't like knowing what's going to happen in advance.
Half the fun is trying to predict where things are going, and congratulating yourself on being so astute when you happen to get it right!
Once the dust settles and we figure out who made it, who died and who's in the hospital, there will still be many other issues to deal with.
Who is trying to frame EJ Dimera for Stefano's murder? I was thinking Ian McAllister, but I'm starting to have a sneaking suspicion that maybe, just maybe... it's Stefano himself. You heard it here first.
In the mean time, how much trouble will Sami be in over trying to help EJ escape, so he can "clear his name?" Well, this was one heck of a genius plan, now wasn't it? (She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.)
I am excited to see that it seems like this means the end of the dull-as-a-doorknob relationship between Lucas and Sami, and that this should mean she'll soon be back with EJ where she belongs.
Oh and oh what fun we'll have when the sh*t finally hits the fan for Gaby?! I know Melanie's supposed to leave the show, but I really hope it won't be in a body bag, because I'd really like to see the scene when she finds out what her alleged friend did just to get her hands on Chad.
Anyway, it will be a whole two weeks before me know anything... Boo. Oh well, it will give me a chance to catch up on the close to 100 hours of TV I have waiting on the PVR!
I guess to the stars and staff of Days of Our Lives... Enjoy your vacation!

Nicole Gets Caught By Daniel Jonas
Alexandra still isn't dead. More boohoo scenes. Blah blah blah
ANYWAY,
The big paternity test happened today, and if Nicole wasn't determined to keep EJ in the dark before, she certainly is now.
His pathetic threats to declare her an unfit mother and take the child to be raised as a true Dimera (ahem) made him look like a real jerk. Nicole of course was shaking in her boots, she seriously needs to work on her poker face!!!
Even more frantic to keep EJ from knowing the truth, Dr Daniel walked in to his office at the end of the episode to find her sitting at his desk, switching the labels.
Will he support her, or report her? I predict he will support her, turn his head and act like nothing happened... What do you think???
Also!!! Things are heating up for the upcoming who-dun-it in Salem.
Today's suspects include Abe, who's convinced Stefano is the reason Alexandra is dying, and Will, who held a gun and said "We'll see who laughs last, Stefano."
You'd think he would have learned his lesson by now. Lucas went to jail in order to protect Will when he shot EJ... Who does he think will go to jail for him now?
